ERP to Batch Integration

About 90% of the projects that Hyla Soft is involved with deal with integrating shop floor/production data with higher level systems such as SAP and/or Oracle.  Due to this need for integration Hyla Soft has created a custom middle-ware

solution developed for one customer and evolved it over the years to be more of a standard product which is ERP independent.  This solution is able to flow data between SIMATIC Batch and any ERP system helping to close the loop between the “top floor” & “shop floor”.  Some of the functionality delivered with this product includes:

  • Automatic data transfer between ERP systems and Batch Systems
  • Real time data transfer (orders, materials, recipes/formulas, etc.)
  • Order management system
  • Approve and reject a completed order/batch
  • Create and locally schedule correction/off-spec batches
  • Generate detailed batch report for a completed order/batch
  • Send production data back to ERP
  • Validation checks before batches/orders are released
  • Verify master recipe in Batch system is available for product
  • Verify enough quantities of raw materials
  • Verify source tanks for all components specified in recipe are in service
  • Verify all raw materials listed in formula are used in recipe dosing sequences
  • Verify all physical routes are available from each of the source tanks to the appropriate target machines
  • Verify that the physical routes are available from the batch execution machine to the destination tank
  • Verify that all materials used in the recipe are specified in the recipe formula
  • Verify that the produced material stored in the destination tank is the same as that of the batch to be made
  • Verification of custom conditions based on industry specific constrains

Allowing this continuous flow of data among these different systems during production, gives supervisors greater visibility into their process allowing for more informed decision making and quicker response times.
